George Lawrence Munger, 61, of Ellicott, Colorado, died on Friday, August 18, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was the sand plant manager of an oil fracking company. He was born on August 17, 1956, in Glens Falls, New York to George Theodore and Gloria Marie (Sherman) Munger. George “Papa” Munger was a highly decorated Army veteran, and an amazing father, husband, and friend. His favorite role in life was being a Papa. He loved life and making every moment in every day count. He enjoyed his time fishing, camping, and hunting, and had a love for his Ford trucks; however, his true passion was time spent with family and friends. Papa had a heart of gold. Papa, you will always be loved and will be forever missed. George is survived by his eight children, Tammy Sawtell, Julie (Chuck) Harwood, Sandy (Kurby) Burleson, Allen (Shelley) Fish, Jeff (Launa) Fish, Tyler (Becky) Fish, Peggy (Ryan) Hanagan and Crystal Grover; his mother, Gloria Fish; twenty-four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and his beloved brothers and sisters. He joins in death his wife, Lucille Munger, and his father, Bill Fish. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in George's memory to 23754 Redtail Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80928. |
