I was in Co C from Jan 1971 to Jan 1973. I was in the 3rd squad then moved to the motor pool as a dispatcher. SSG Richard Turkiwak was motor sargent, Capt Tanksley was CO. They was what the army was all about, THE BEST. Greg Zachavish from Chicago, James Williams from New York, Rorry Halin from PA, David Wilson from TN, Randy Marley from Oklahoma were there also in 1971 and 1973. Hope all are well and are still walking on the green side of the grass somewhere. GOD BLESS
I was with the 317th co C in 1971 at Camp Eshborn.

Camp Eschborn 1989, to Desert Storm, to Ft. Benning, GA 1993
I am a proud Delta Dawg from 1987 to 1989. I served with 3rd plt 1st Sqd under Jose Melendez. My team leaders were Will Rackcliff and Cpl Bowie. I don't know if I ever knew his first name other than Corporal. It was my distinct pleasure to have met up with Rack at Gettysburg Battlefield last summer. It was really good seeing him. I am kind of sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to go to war with this distinguished group of folks. I have no doubt that it would have been memorable. We trained hard and we partied hard, and we made it through in one piece thanks to our great NCOs. Especially our First Sergeant, First Sergeant Mac.
B Co Bandits 1988-1990 Camp Eschborn. Memories to last a lifetime. By Industry and Honor!
Was w/HHC 317th ADM.PLT 72 -74 alot of gd memories

HHC "85" to "87" Battalion Welder
B Co Bandits 85-88. Thanks for setting up and continuing to keep the history alive.
Served with the 317th from 1999 to 2002 on Kelly Hill. I was first assigned to 1st Plt in B Co as an ACE operator for six months. Move to HHC and served the rest of my term there as the Unit Armorer. While our group to dislike Peter Gabriel's "sledgehammer" because Brigade always played it after PT was done, I enjoyed my time with the Buffalo Battalion, with the many great soldiers, NCOs, and officers within the battalion.
Stationed at Eschborn from 86-88 A CO. Actually was in the motor pool but drove for Top Lambert in the field. I Had the chance to participate in 12B activities because of driving for 1Sgt. Good times..
I was stationed with D Co. 76-78 . Then again in C Co. 88-91. This was the best unit I was ever stationed in with some of the best soldiers. Now they are all my brothers I am so proud of knowing each and everyone of them.
While I did not serve with the 317th, I served many of you dinner at our apartment. (Spc. Gary DeLong) We are divorced now, but I have many memories and pictures of everyone. Many of you came by to play cards or get a home-cooked meal, or just to play with out children. (then 3, now 4 and 6 grandkids!) Gary sent me a video while in SA, and a few of the troops are in the video as well. The video was just before Spc. Crask and PFC Rush were lost. Crask used to babysit for us so we could go daning. My kids remember Sgt Ray Bradbury, Bill Gillespie (I forget his rank), and Bob (??). I wish I could remember his last name. He had 2 dogs that used to latch onto a big railroad tie and he could carry them around like that. Anyway, I just happened to stumble across your site nad wanted to say THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO YOUR COUNTRY AND TO EACH OTHER. God bless you all. Love, Tracy Perry (FKA DeLong)
