Stationed at Camp Eschborn 1984 -1986. A Co. Arrived at Camp Eschborn New Year's Eve in "84 and was shown around downtown Frankfurt during the festivities by a fellow in HHC Co. I had no idea the Europeans celebrated New Years like that! I had a great time and was very gungho, but had to leave the Army early due to family issues at home. Now a big part of me regrets that decision but it still was in family's best interest. I had a good time with nearly everyone. I still remember Hamby (from Georgia) and myself catching the guy who came under the fence while on guard duty and we had to carry empty M-16s at the time. We faked it good! I was (am) a smaller fellow and got assigned the M-60 and later the 5-ton dump truck, but neither without resistance because of my size. We had great leadership to include Fredie Hargraves who I see has left an entry.
Stationed with 317th from 1962 thru March 1965 he company medical specialist....try bad Hershel's 6 months tdy

They was what the army was all about, THE BEST. Greg Zachavish from Chicago, James Williams from New York, Rorry Halin from PA, David Wilson from TN, Randy Marley from Oklahoma were there also in 1971 and 1973. Hope all are well and are still walking on the green side of the grass somewhere. GOD BLESS

Camp Eschborn 1989, to Desert Storm, to Ft. Benning, GA 1993
I am a proud Delta Dawg from 1987 to 1989. I served with 3rd plt 1st Sqd under Jose Melendez. My team leaders were Will Rackcliff and Cpl Bowie. I don't know if I ever knew his first name other than Corporal. It was my distinct pleasure to have met up with Rack at Gettysburg Battlefield last summer. It was really good seeing him. I am kind of sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to go to war with this distinguished group of folks. I have no doubt that it would have been memorable. We trained hard and we partied hard, and we made it through in one piece thanks to our great NCOs. Especially our First Sergeant, First Sergeant Mac.
