One other thing is one of our Bro's SSG Michael Gross passed away a couple of years back from brain cancer. He was in CP Eschborn, then FT Benning, then 44 En Bn in Korea and then 1st En Bn in FT Riley, he retired there . I have a guy I know and will try to get with him to get a obit and picture for the site. SSG Gross was the guy that was left behind when the Battalion left Germany for both places in Georgia, to turn the keys to CP Eschborn over/back to the German's. Battalion left the half track and bridge piece in front of the headquarters in Germany, he put it in a connex and shipped it to Benning. And then spend months waiting to turn the keys, He was put in B Co, and 1SG Brown used to call him to threaten him with being AWOL. He called Battalion and told them he was leaving the keys at the front gate and hopping a MAC flight back to the states. But they told him to stay, he finally told me what he did the whole time while he was waiting , when we were in Korea drinking Soju pitchers, TRAVEL, all of Europe. Everytime he set a appointment to turn in the keys , they canceled or rescheduled. So he traveled and a few months passed, then the germans showed up one day and signed for the keys . Hopped a flight to Benning and had to listen to 1SG Brown's wrath. Great Guy, RIP Bro!!
