I drove 5 tons most of the time, all the fun things like trash. I did like the coal run (we used coal for heating boilers then) when you got to the coal yard they would hand you a flippie while you waited to get loaded, I meant the truck. I learned things like if your squad beats on the head ache board protesting your driving you just raise the bed so they can’t get to it and they stay quiet for a while
I missed Eschborn when I got to Vietnam and in the brief period of time I was in country I used everything I had learned in the 317th.
