November 11th, 1981 - November 25, 2015
Luna Pier, MI – Paul Albert Marziani, III, 34, formerly of Watervliet, died unexpectedly at home on November 25, 2015.
Paul was born on November 11, 1981 in Albany and was the son of Paul A. Marziani, II and Laura M. Sehl and the step-son of Jonathan N. Sehl. He spent the majority of his life in Watervliet and was a 1999 graduate of Watervliet High School. Recently, Paul moved to Michigan where he shared a home with his friend and companion, Babs Johnson.
Following his graduation from high school, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served his country overseas, for two years, in Kuwait and Iraq with the 3rd Infantry Division, 317th Engineer Battalion as a combat engineer. Paul was honorably discharged from active duty in December of 2003 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Following his enlistment, Paul returned home and pursued educational interests in electrical technology and massage therapy.
Paul had an appreciation for music, football and animals. He will always be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as being humorous, giving, non-judgmental and loving. Paul had a big heart and was very generous to his family and friends. His daughter Remy was his little angel and her laughter was music to his ears. He loved her unconditionally.
In addition to his daughter and parents, Paul is survived by his sisters, Tina M. Daniels and Sarah J. Fay; his nephews, Maximillian and Alexander; as well as his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Donald L. Rutherford on Thursday at 10 AM in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 25th Street and 7th Avenue, Watervliet. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery at 12:30 PM. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Paul’s family on Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at the Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family suggests that donations, in his memory, be made to Operation Delta Dog. http://www.operationdeltadog.org/#!faqs/c10g7
