Obituary

Ron Edwards, 53, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away October 21, 2016. Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a children's charity of your choice.

Ron was born August 20, 1963 in Carthage, Missouri to Emerald Dean and Margie Edwards. He was raised in Kansas City, Kansas by his mother and step-father, Ellis "Buck" Carter. Ron graduated from J.C. Harmon High School. He met his wife Sarah at Victoria Tabernacle Church, and they married there on April 10, 1982. Ron joined the Army right after graduation and served for 11 years as a Combat Engineer, with two tours in Germany and an active role in Desert Storm. After his honorable discharge, he worked for a variety of locations, most notably as a millwright at Burns Boys and maintenance mechanic at Griffin Wheel, where he retired in 2013. Ron loved watching Nascar and football and traveled down to the Lake of the Ozarks whenever he could to do some fishing, boating and relaxing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emerald Dean Edwards, his step-father, Ellis "Buck" Carter, his grandparents, and his brother, Greg Sayree.

Ron is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sarah Edwards of the home; his mother, Margie Carter of KCK; his daughters, Elizabeth and Lisa Edwards; his honorary children, Stephanie and Carlos Polo; his honorary grandchildren, Elijah & Dossie Polo; and his brothers, Danny Edwards, Johnny Carter, Casey Sayree, and Donald Sayree.
