June 19th, 1953 - March 19th, 2006
On December 8th 1997, Theddrick Re’Charyd Taylor was born to LaShaye Taylor and Bruce Gilbert. He attended 1st Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized at the age of 5 by the late Pastor Ellison J. Colley Sr. At 1st Mac, Theddrick served in the Youth Department. In February of 2008, Theddrick became a member of The Tabernacle of Praise Family Worship Center (TOP) under the leadership of Pastor John S. Pyles Sr. where he was an active member of the Youth Ministry, MAD iNc.; he served until his untimely transition. Theddrick desired to be baptized again before reporting to his duty station. On December 2nd 2016; Desire fulfilled.
Theddrick attended Shadydale Elementary School, F.M. Black Middle School (JROTC 2 years) and graduated from S.P. Waltrip High School (JROTC 4 years) in May of 2016. He went on to pursue his dream of becoming a part of the United States Army as a Combat Engineer in August of 2016. He served in Company A, 317th Engineer Battalion in Fort Polk, La. (By Industry and Honor). He fulfilled his dream and accomplished his goal…HOOAH!!!!
Theddrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Theodora Taylor. He was also proceeded in death by his sister, Brushai Gilbert.
In the 19 years of Theddrick’s life he touched and inspired many lives, young and old. He truly embodied the meaning of true friendship and he will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memories:
His Mother, LaShaye Taylor; Grandmother, Jessie Marie Sweeny; Father, Bruce Gilbert; Sister, Soulethia Grier; Brother, Matthew Taylor Sr.; Three nephews Kodi, Kyle, and Matthew Jr; One niece, Makaila and a host of family and friends that meant the world to him.
