317th Engineer History Research Project - Vehicles

The following is a research project created and managed by Alan Schlie. The following is research is a history of military related vehicles. Alan is a fellow 317th Alumnus who served as part of HHC, Alpha and Bravo companies between the years of 1965-1973. Much of this research has been collected by Alan over the years via book and internet research, communication with the Army Engineer Association and discussions with fellow 317th Engineer brothers from all era's. Alan has done his best to ensure accuracy with his research but all research is always open to improvement. Alan would welcome any verifiable corrections or additions to the information contained within this document.

I was in Alpha company from Jan 87 to Sept 89. For a time I was the M548 driver and I towed a trailer that i didn't see listed. It's the M128 GEMSS (Ground Emplaced Mine Scattering System). I don't have any pictures of it it share. Youtube video here: https://youtu.be/vNQIE-D8uwY

I was assigned to the 317th from Nov 1997 to December 1999 and served as the Assistant Brigade Engineer and B Company Commander.
