CPT David Waltz passed away at the age of 43, at his home in Hiram Georgia. CPT Waltz served as the rear detachment commander for the 317th Engineers during our deployment to Operation Desert Storm.


David Byron Waltz, 43, of Hiram, Ga., died Thursday, Sept. 13, in his home. He was the husband of Kathryn L. Waltz.
He was a paralegal for Alston and Bird, Atlanta, Ga.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Ralph and Marilyn Waltz of Coplay.

He was an Army veteran of the Gulf War, serving as a captain and rear detachment commander for the 317th Engineer Battalion, Echborn, Germany.
Survivors: Wife; parents; daughter, Lana Y. of Kennesaw, Ga.; son, David B. II of Bowling Green, Ky.; sister, Kimberly Beam in Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Ave., Marietta, Ga. No calling hours.

Contributions: Army Community Services Fund, c/o the funeral home.
